One Thimble Issue 17 is out and here to play in the snow!

Issue 17 is OUT!!!!*  One Thimble is hands down my favourite pdf/online sewing magazine!!! Every issue has several patterns I want to sew and articles I MUST read! *post contains affiliate links

Today I'm showing the Miss Blossom Bunny Purse pattern! This cute bunny purse is a fairly simple sew. It does have a zipper so just for that I always slap on an intermediate rating - but do not be scared of zippers! They are a great skill to have in your sewing skillset.

The pattern includes a basic bunny purse option, but it is very easy to add embellishments like bows and floral flowers. I even just cut the top few inches of the bunny ear pattern to make a KITTEN version!!! super easy - using the same pattern pieces - just short ears!

The pattern includes instructions for doing a hand embroidered face... but as we all know - I really enjoy painting and I don't have patience for hand embroidery. So, breaking out the fabric paints is another great option for you to use if you are uncomfortable with hand embroidery, or just a bit lazy, like me.

You will want to have some light weight interfacing and a 7 inch zipper for this project, everything else is standard fabric and sewing etc.

I sewed up both these purses from start to finished the details in about 2hrs time - which I think is great sewing time and thus makes them perfect for adding to the gift idea categories! The lining is done quick way so that helps with speed and seeing some seams doesn't bother me at all - especially for a fun kids purse!

Honestly, I'm tempted to make one for myself... It is all about fabric choice as to how little kid or adult they look. I used a plain white fabric and some Sis Boom from the Nostalgia line fabrics. Inside I just used something fun that matched colours I knew the kids would enjoy.

Perfect purses for holiday fun and everyday use that both my girls just love!
I really enjoyed sewing up this purse pattern, it was a fun sew and a great sew to get a little creative with!

Now just a little bit about the magazine - Issue 17!

The list of patterns in this issue is INCREDIBLE!! Patterns ranging form gift ideas to clothing and of course loads of great articles! The article about how to make a tassle necklaces looks super fun to try and I can hardly wait to sew the Nori dress by Paisley Roots!.... c'mon summer!!!
