For my proportions, my waist is a little higher up, so, I added an inch and a half to the top of the pants so they would sit high waist on myself at my natural waist and I took several inches off the bottom because my legs are NOT long lol. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">These pants have pockets!!! and a super cute tie front and they have a wonderful size range of 2T to 24adult in one pattern for 1 average price! I feel like it works well but something softer like rayon would as well. The linen has it keeping its shape well though and nothing clings in heat.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>DIRECTIONS</b>: The directions were straight forward. I am a little shorter than the pattern height - so I followed the very clear directions for how and where to take height out of the pattern. In total I removed 1.5 inches. I feel like I want to mention - it is very important to follow the pattern directions if you are adding or removing length because this is not a "lop it off/add to" the bottom dress with the back detail. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">There is a fair bit of bias with this dress - but it was easy to do and there are pattern pieces to cut (YAY!) no measuring loads of bias makes it much more enjoyable. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>TIME</b>: I would say it took about 3-4 hours to cut and sew... but honestly with homeschooling this year I kind of work 10minutes here and 30 there. It did FEEL like it went together in a timely manner and was not a drag to sew together. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>OVERALL:</b> This was my first time using a pattern from Paradise Patterns and I really enjoyed the directions and the fit and pattern. I LOVE this pattern. The finishing details on that neckline are perfection! I chose to do longer waist ties so I could go around the back and tie in front - because I just like that look, and I can still chose to tie in the back for a looser fit day. </div><div><br /></div><div>The pattern has this gorgeous curved hemline that I adore for my spring and summer look. I would say fall too, but I live on the Canadian Prairies and fall is about a month of chilly rain and gloom and then a month of sleet and gloom... </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The fabric is from <a href="https://fiveoceansfabric.com/collections/preorder" target="_blank">5 Oceans fabric</a> which is right here in canada and is a cotton woven, perfect for the fringe dress.</div><div><br /></div><div>I had a lot of fun fussy cutting the stripes on angles for this front detail, so, enjoy this close up shot of it. <br />
The Shaw top and shorts set is my new favourite! I adore this set! Comfortable and cute! AND POCKETS!!! Size range is 00-20. I used this light weight woven I got at the local fabricland years ago. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the bright print - but I ADORE it! Though you can probably expect to see another Saw set in black!<br />
<br />
The shorts are a high waist as you can see with a crop top it is a short dolman style sleeve - so no sleeves to inset which means sewing this set was quick and easy - and I adore the use of facings for such a tidy finish!<br />
<br />
The pattern is available <a href="https://califayecollection.com/products/shaw-top-short">here </a> :)<br />
<br />
my 7yr old took my pics, so she is still learning how to focus the camera, but I just love the side silhouette and wanted to include a photo of it.<br />

I got to sew for a baby!!!! I made this ADORABLE <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/151306862/sis-boom-carly-bubble-baby-and-toddler?ref=shop_home_active_20">Sis Boom Carly</a> bubble romper! I love that this romper can be totally gender neutral with the sleeveless option- it is all on fabric choice. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
But clearly, I knew I was sewing for a baby girl. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
For this romper I did not do it reversible, I wanted to keep it a little cooler for the summer by just having a single layer, so I used facings instead and I did a video tutorial on how to do this : </center>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did this adorable You are my sunshine free motion applique on the front. This romper is a gift for my cousin, and this was a song our grandpa used to sing to us</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The back is finished with a cute flat button and I used some lingerie elastic to loop it.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was so excited to test this simple and sweet summer top for both myself and my daughter! I love a simple tank in the summer - made for wovens with spaghetti straps and a nice swing means it is perfect for hot days! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2tDIJ-NamMuhQdDSlH98forPrYxdirsFsHs5V6LyGrIsU17iPvOKnNX8tPPmd5AU_QhZoFHI4_ND6etAoB_nMCEXrWkJQxmiOaIMiDhZh-8QbZ79V4naXjMeAWvmOHIO0VE_5aaAZX8Gy/s1600/wm20200521-IMG_8138.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2tDIJ-NamMuhQdDSlH98forPrYxdirsFsHs5V6LyGrIsU17iPvOKnNX8tPPmd5AU_QhZoFHI4_ND6etAoB_nMCEXrWkJQxmiOaIMiDhZh-8QbZ79V4naXjMeAWvmOHIO0VE_5aaAZX8Gy/s640/wm20200521-IMG_8138.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The Laramie comes in <a href="https://littlelizardking.com/girls/laramie">GIRLS</a>, <a href="https://littlelizardking.com/womens/womens-laramie">WOMENS</a> and as a <a href="http://bundle./">BUNDLE.</a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This top is simple front (like I did) or with a faux button placket. I adore how it is sewn and hemmed with a facing - The hemline facing is great for giving it a pop of colour and fun. and using a facing around the top means it is unlined and nice and cool in summer.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The length hits right around the hips and works great with jeans and a cardi in cooler weather (or undecided weather) and it pairs cute with shorts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The girls' top is in sizes 12months to 14 years. I paired Cheeks' shirt with the Brea shorts (also from LLK)</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
HEY! I'm on the blog again.. It feels like this pandemic has zapped all my blog writing energy away! BUT I am excited about the new Jalie Patterns!!! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8FcGpFeKrIBeWGQTZkXVOlwrYUU4SWd0d5K_P5JKbReDyhUcQRqdvmCcg4VAy-qSYkCVCep7clrcgab2FqKT_7MF0zxzmMhCVPm_XkFhDkHRUeFDmrGCtUtv2JC1Eccq0F2UxZ1fcULMb/s1600/wmIMG_7974.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1590" data-original-width="1600" height="396" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8FcGpFeKrIBeWGQTZkXVOlwrYUU4SWd0d5K_P5JKbReDyhUcQRqdvmCcg4VAy-qSYkCVCep7clrcgab2FqKT_7MF0zxzmMhCVPm_XkFhDkHRUeFDmrGCtUtv2JC1Eccq0F2UxZ1fcULMb/s400/wmIMG_7974.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the new <a href="https://jalie.com/jalie4017-genevieve-gathered-woven-pull-on-skirt-sewing-pattern">Genevieve Skirt</a> - the super simplest of versions (with pockets, because who doesn't need pockets) Other options include a fun belt and pouch, and a button front! I did the midi option for length, and was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked out on my shortness!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used this super light rayon blend fabric for the skirt that I bought at fabricland (pre pandemic) and I wont lie to you - it was no fun to cut and I had to serge all my edges before I could even sew it! but it is going to be LIVED IN this summer! So light and breezy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge4LIkWYx5j4L7XoTunlB22p5gL7DEXV6beTTPUM0jEN6eG1VhGxBv0qK0IG3diMPttJMSiUTXh10m7f_F722CqQIetbHc5KuQw2VyaQEI3hZU9GYojcq0wnN7PnfnslD4wc6yjwiRLOSG/s1600/wmIMG_7957.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1483" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge4LIkWYx5j4L7XoTunlB22p5gL7DEXV6beTTPUM0jEN6eG1VhGxBv0qK0IG3diMPttJMSiUTXh10m7f_F722CqQIetbHc5KuQw2VyaQEI3hZU9GYojcq0wnN7PnfnslD4wc6yjwiRLOSG/s400/wmIMG_7957.jpg" width="370" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I paired it with the gorgeous <a href="https://jalie.com/3911-michelle-tanks-and-dress-sewing-pattern">Michelle Tank</a> (of the michelle tank or dress pattern) in this super soft silky smooth blend I also bought at fabricland when I picked up the skirt fabric. Can I just say, I miss going to the fabric store and feeling my fabrics when I am looking at buying apparel fabrics for myself?! There is nothing quite like touching the fabric on the bolts to know that yes, I do want this next to my skin!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Normally, I'm not much into skirts - but after much time to browse pinterest this winter I have decided this is the summer of skirts for me! and I mean seriously - how amazing don't these pair? </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The white see through fabric is the flared version again - but tunic length, I just love the slouchy fit! and I think it will look fantastic over a bikini paired with shorts in summer too!</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjQRGhVnydZZo2xVqCAd5Y6AzEalj8O6cMSrvSfeZZdTgVrXagmHVVCE4BCX-a2hchexWZO6W-0izGplDfhTPFRaUnINtBnMKUGd80RJx7eDsX75YfPju9J9E7VxZsESCbTUiKPRCqbuAU/s1600/intro+fart.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjQRGhVnydZZo2xVqCAd5Y6AzEalj8O6cMSrvSfeZZdTgVrXagmHVVCE4BCX-a2hchexWZO6W-0izGplDfhTPFRaUnINtBnMKUGd80RJx7eDsX75YfPju9J9E7VxZsESCbTUiKPRCqbuAU/s640/intro+fart.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
When my daughter's teacher asked me if I could sew a FART from the Robert Munsch book, Good Families Don't, I could not say no! I honestly giggled the entire time I sewed this!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjKeGQ5BBS_ggZb047A5RqYZV3O6dxy1-uGYUIFeDzP10e_c7AoaLwQaQqsv0a7M_-jfO0tpWJ6F-llUSYA3EmWZt2KrToR0HycYvjNmqy-rOQYOXsIjyH7-KVT1WfhB8QNFlOOOu4UaxT/s1600/mIMG_7511.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1529" data-original-width="1600" height="610" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjKeGQ5BBS_ggZb047A5RqYZV3O6dxy1-uGYUIFeDzP10e_c7AoaLwQaQqsv0a7M_-jfO0tpWJ6F-llUSYA3EmWZt2KrToR0HycYvjNmqy-rOQYOXsIjyH7-KVT1WfhB8QNFlOOOu4UaxT/s640/mIMG_7511.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was a fun challenge to take on, I created the pattern from scratch and had so much fun putting together how I was going to get all the details in. The purple ear fluff just kills me!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyIusF_aQdujkRhcsEhD02qEYshsh9FQ4rkVNqC4JMX9xwUVo4ikbgerqD_f8Ccc6iN-g-cDmZIzuxcIpcuh1HipOdH7MBurIrY9JQpbRaebTSWrjBXFK6PYkLPoQ7hkHwSKG-WSfAd-L5/s1600/mnIMG_7512.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyIusF_aQdujkRhcsEhD02qEYshsh9FQ4rkVNqC4JMX9xwUVo4ikbgerqD_f8Ccc6iN-g-cDmZIzuxcIpcuh1HipOdH7MBurIrY9JQpbRaebTSWrjBXFK6PYkLPoQ7hkHwSKG-WSfAd-L5/s640/mnIMG_7512.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you have not read this book yet - DO!!! My kids and I both laughed out loud! It is such a funny book. I mean all Robert munsch books are amazing, of course, but this one is hilarious!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used this embroidery wreath file from <a href="https://www.ellieandmac.com/collections/holidays/products/christmas-wreath-cookie-applique-design?aff=1027">Ellie and Mac for the wreath</a>* my holiday gnome is holding! They have some great <a href="https://www.ellieandmac.com/collections/embroidery?aff=1027">other options too</a> that would be a little easier than cutting out the center - like a gift box and a mug of cocoa.</div>

The gnome was the sewing tutorial found in the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/243296892836075/">So Sew English</a> group - I just used my own measures and followed the general how to. </div>

My daughter's teacher suggested she read outloud to a stuffy to improve confidence, she reads well for her grade level - but is not very confident in it. So, my idea was that maybe they could be little elves in training from the north pole - but they need some extra help, so kids need to read to them for 15 mins a day or 1 book or whatever the reading goal is... you know, to improve the elves knowledge of people kind through stories.</div>

<a href="https://www.onethimble.com.au/product/one-thimble-issue-22-early-bird/" target="_blank">PIPER PINNY DRESS by Bubby and Me and in Issue 22 of One Thimble! </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is no secret I LOOOVE one thimble!!!! ADORE this magazine and after a short break - it has returned!!!! and I am SEW very happy !</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
From Issue 22 I sewed up the Piper Pinny! and I honestly cannot wait to make summer ones in anchors and striped fabrics with crop tops underneath.. But for now - it is winterland and cozy sewing and inside pictures. (insert sad face)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The youngest (pictured) LOVES dresses and hates jeans. She is always sad to put away dresses that won't layer well when the weather gets so cold, so, this is really a great wardrobe piece to add a little warmth to her preferred clothes and it is easy to add a tights and a top to a pinny outfit.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnDKGrhUnKqQXKwr3yP07Ekp1XYGkIIzu7kjmkd78reHzyiBCtzYL5w3t-F5qLEg8k69QoNTBM3UaHHt6tb3DTh0vsHkMmXJ5zlCX46FwCWEqfOmwzIzLMBdgjZvkjior-38jlZM_ZbW1r/s1600/20191114-IMG_6770.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1178" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnDKGrhUnKqQXKwr3yP07Ekp1XYGkIIzu7kjmkd78reHzyiBCtzYL5w3t-F5qLEg8k69QoNTBM3UaHHt6tb3DTh0vsHkMmXJ5zlCX46FwCWEqfOmwzIzLMBdgjZvkjior-38jlZM_ZbW1r/s640/20191114-IMG_6770.jpg" width="470" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I grabbed some flannel (why is it sooo cold here?!) and got to cutting! Styled with a cardi and tights is how my girl wore it to school.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pattern has a great size range off 18month to 14! I really enjoyed the sewing of it as well - very easy and quick, enough so that I already am making plans for a couple more for my daughters' wardrobes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You will need a little interfacing - but that also means you don't have to iron down a fold and then sew a hem on the facings...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
*side note* I honestly feel sad about these pictures... But we have not seen the sun for what feels like a month (such terrible lighting!) and I felt guilty trying to bribe my kid to model outside with this outfit when I wont even go outside for a walk to the store without a full snow suit. lol</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF-f8n4TGQzvLZ4Gz42aR1gHh3_PQCQYQ-WKXZkwfnbifUR5ZmGgEtGqYI-rQAeOa7805CjVZJvMgDsgEQM3HHodE-jQHB5dSM94v5kYVzG2IBBhfOT5y-MefvBnHriirUwzf5yRHATjQh/s1600/20191114-IMG_6775.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1249" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF-f8n4TGQzvLZ4Gz42aR1gHh3_PQCQYQ-WKXZkwfnbifUR5ZmGgEtGqYI-rQAeOa7805CjVZJvMgDsgEQM3HHodE-jQHB5dSM94v5kYVzG2IBBhfOT5y-MefvBnHriirUwzf5yRHATjQh/s640/20191114-IMG_6775.jpg" width="498" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can tell she really loves the outfit with the smiles in the pics she gave me at least! and quite honestly - seeing her in this cozy outfit is making me want a pinny for myself to wear with tights and a sweater cardi too!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqL_5Z59lk9R-obCdu4fKtgbo_hFbpaJwaJ1noI7QAbFZ9VjFWBRdKJkDYS98vSRX2Rk8Yf98CSW0pwCva5C9P8nbqpGWZ6gECQh7NSUjWrzSP3X3vhi7UiThGtneBGRzDarrqU9cyKcZ-/s1600/20191114-IMG_6758.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1067" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqL_5Z59lk9R-obCdu4fKtgbo_hFbpaJwaJ1noI7QAbFZ9VjFWBRdKJkDYS98vSRX2Rk8Yf98CSW0pwCva5C9P8nbqpGWZ6gECQh7NSUjWrzSP3X3vhi7UiThGtneBGRzDarrqU9cyKcZ-/s320/20191114-IMG_6758.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pockets on this pinny I do not recommend skipping! Look how gorgeous they are! The back straps are super cute I did add a little topstitching to them as I used flannel and I often feel flannel needs a little extra to stability help with it's looser weave.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9JxAd635oM9fsXnTqowxCTIh6wlfMIMUkvyChiZxPauSjaQg6ti6Qkc_bNeJoY4MKJ7cZxd2xWSGvyhyphenhyphentX0j24Bn2rCM0Lvkh2yyJc30Srv3Xq0XhkhP6Q3X66KGUHKMgX5IyHqB-Sd82/s1600/20191114-IMG_6762.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1471" data-original-width="1600" height="588" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9JxAd635oM9fsXnTqowxCTIh6wlfMIMUkvyChiZxPauSjaQg6ti6Qkc_bNeJoY4MKJ7cZxd2xWSGvyhyphenhyphentX0j24Bn2rCM0Lvkh2yyJc30Srv3Xq0XhkhP6Q3X66KGUHKMgX5IyHqB-Sd82/s640/20191114-IMG_6762.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I also bought the magazine - the bodysuit pattern - comes with a crop top version! My oldest is going to be sooooo excited about that! I adored the "it's ok to not sew" article! I really have been feeling a little bit of burnout with this last summer and school starting up busyness. As my blog has reflected.<br />
The styling tips were AMAZING!!! I wish I had taken the time to read the articles BEFORE I took pics for this blog post... and honestly after reading I would have redone the pics except the kids are spending some days having grandparent time.<br />

The Fabric Geeks has an amazing preorder on right now - I love this fabric! of course, I wanted to use it on myself.. the kids get so much stuff.... lol. I had been wanting a princes seam sweater for quite awhile - and this one was great - and the fb group has a video for the pocket bit which can be a little confusing (I had to watch the video - and then went OF COURSE how did I not get that!!) </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pattern I used was the <a href="https://sinclairpatterns.com/product/skylar-knit-raglan-hoodie-pdf-sewing-pattern/" target="_blank">Sinclair Skylar</a> sweater - it does have hoodie options. but I choose to keep it pretty simple as I often get annoyed by hoods. I did add a little flat piping to the sleeves in front - to tie in the back (dark teal - also from the fabric geeks - it matches perfectly to the blue in the princess background of the panel)</div>

<a href="https://patternemporium.com/collections/pattern-release?aff=59" target="_blank">HELLO GORGEOUS!!!*</a> (that is the name of this new pattern by pattern emporium!) You really do feel gorgeous in this top though! it is fitted - but not so fitted that you can't eat in it. but a very flattering fitted that you are like ya look at me - I'm GORGEOUS! and you literally want to say "oh hello gorgeous!" when you see yourself in the mirror! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This first one I made in double brushed poly that I picked up at Black Rabbit Fabrics online. It is a size 8 (aus sizing) high neckline option in short sleeves with the shorter cutting line for length. I really love how the DBP hangs and feels.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLKQgxJen77sCuraKt6KysmoRy4u-ldJ5hTrLm9PF3YYB5iG4JKtrM7TBWTaFnU4L9yBNmOi6Tuhp_5tE0o4si3KNF5KvkFVyyrM9Ohn4TjHIK_6sVn4jm8PTBIhdWI8ZO_WNRrvzfs4x9/s1600/20191013-IMG_6478-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="842" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLKQgxJen77sCuraKt6KysmoRy4u-ldJ5hTrLm9PF3YYB5iG4JKtrM7TBWTaFnU4L9yBNmOi6Tuhp_5tE0o4si3KNF5KvkFVyyrM9Ohn4TjHIK_6sVn4jm8PTBIhdWI8ZO_WNRrvzfs4x9/s640/20191013-IMG_6478-2.jpg" width="336" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This second one is all the same options except I did long sleeves! and I used this brushed melange knit I found at the local Fabricland!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This one feels a lot more sweatery thanks to the fabric - but the drape is still lovely! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and it is on a <a href="https://patternemporium.com/collections/pattern-release?aff=59" target="_blank">limited time sale*</a> - and it goes with so many of the other patterns that you can get an even larger discount by bundling patterns! </div>

Normally, I am not a cover myself in lots of fabric type, but the inspiration photos on pinterest with the maxi length floral dresses for fall looked sooooo pretty... I thought I'd try and get a little out of my comfort zone. </div>

I love the gentle curve of the bodice and the very light gathering. The pattern is of course loaded with options. I chose maxi length, long sleeve, and POCKETS! a fairly quick sew, definitely not complicated! The hardest part was cutting that huge amount of DBP straight for the skirt lol. (time for a rotary cutter...)</div>

The pattern is pure genius! The way the pattern is designed and constructed makes this look fancy - but honestly, it is faster than a raglan for me! (plus no binding to mess with!). It has layers so printing the size you need is easy to print off and find. <br />
<br />
My oldest claimed this pattern as soon as she saw it. I used this gorgeous brushed melange knit, it has great stretch for the pattern and is so cozy and sweatery!<br />
