winter w-one-derland outfit

Now I am not a regular participant in http://www.projectrunplay.com/ sewalongs.... but I have a friend in the competition this year (go Karly! ps. feel free to head on over to vote)  and so I thought I would enter at least one of the sewalongs!

Now this outfit is in fact Frozen inspired. You know, that mega popular Disney winter princess movie that everyone but me has seen...
The blue dress and the sweetheart-ish/v neckline - so pretty! But completely impractical for a one year old...

So I used the Scientific Seamstress Simply Sweet pattern and rounded out a V neck and did the sweet flutter sleeves (flutter sleeves are one of the in pattern options).
ps. modifications for a proper Frozen tutorial will be on the Scientific Seamstress blog soon

"CHEESE"

I kept the icy blue, and the fabric does have little snowflakes/flowers on it.

The pants are the Scientific Seamstress easy fits that I slimmed down (tutorial)

maybe pink isn't to winter-y... but it is sweet and matches the blue. and honestly, where I live we pretty much are stuck inside for 4 months and wear parkas from nov-march so I need a bit of cheer to winter outfits!

and one more dose of the cute that is my youngest!

and that my friends is my winter outfit! Now I will just sit back and wait for Frozen to hit DVD and then try and convince bribe my husband to watch it with me... maybe under the guise of previewing it for the oldest...

I love it, nicely done. When my oldest was that age pink was an anytime color. You can tell your husband, my husband thought Frozen was a pretty good movie and didn't mind sitting through it even though it was our anniversary.
